August 2, 1992 For this hike we invited Brian Hallgren to join us. For some reason, maybe to see someplace new, we hiked in along Calamity Brook, Opalescent River and Feldspar Brook. This made for a very long hike, our longest in a single day. This explains why it felt as if the trail kept going up forever and why we needed to keep asking Hoaggie what his altimeter read. After finally reaching Lake Tear of the Clouds, our hike was nearly complete. Getting to the summit seemed only a formality after our already long walk in the woods. Views were limited from the top, so after taking a break, we headed back to the Upper Works parking lot.
