Phelps: 23 August 1986After climbing Cathead Mountain and Blue Mountain earlier in the year, we were ready to try our first high peak. This was a great one for beginners. Part of the trail gave me the feeling that I was at the Schoharie Nursery. The trail was short and while on the summit we got our first look at Mount Marcy. On the drive home, we decided enough energy remained to try Cascade and Porter.
